NCC aims to groom students into models of discipline and develops in their character, leadership, a secular outlook and the spirit of selfless service to the nation. Functioning since 1995, our NCC Army Wing is an infantry unit under 1/2 Coy 1 Karnataka Battalion, Karnataka and Goa directorate. The NCC unit of the college, numbering 52 cadets presently, is led by a highly experienced officer. Parade practice is held every thursday in the college. Our cadets excel in complex drill formations. They have represented the state at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. A number of them have gone on to occupy distinguished positions in the Indian Armed Forces.
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.
